I grew up in Northern
Illinois and moved to the Portland area in 1995. Soon after that, I began
working at Valley. In addition to my work at Valley, I work as an
elementary music teacher at Oregon Episcopal School.
I am married to Thomas Rheingans, a professional pianist and music teacher.
We have two beautiful children. In May 2003, our daughter, Jacqueline, was born and in May 2005, our son, Samuel, was born.
At Valley, I direct the Valley Academy
of Performing Arts (VAPA) and handle administrative and teaching
responsibilities for the following:
- Vocal and
handbell choirs for children and youth
- Youth drama
- Summer Performing Arts camps
- Sunday school music

| After
earning a Bachelor’s degree in Music from Lewis and Clark
College and a Master’s degree from the University of
Washington, I worked as the Assistant Organist at the First
Presbyterian Church in Portland for 16 years. I have been at
Valley for 11 years now as the Organist. My husband, Bob, and I
-- both native Portlanders -- have three children.
In addition to teaching piano and
performing, I also enjoy walking, biking, and cooking.
